Indications And Clinical Uses: For temporary relief of minor skin irritations, itching and rashes due to eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, soaps, detergents, cosmetics and jewellery.
Manufacturers’ Warnings In Clinical States: For external use only. Do not use in or around the eyes. Do not apply to large areas of the body. Do not use to treat vulvar itching associated with vaginal discharge. Use only for 7 days maximum. If symptoms persist beyond 7 days or return after discontinuing use of the product, consult a physician.
Children: Do not use in children 2 years of age or younger, unless directed by a physician.
Dosage: Apply to the affected area not more than 3 or 4 times daily.
Availability And Storage: Cream: 0.5 %: Each g of cream contains: hydrocortisone USP 5 mg (0.5%) in a water miscible emollient base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cetostearyl alcohol, chlorocresol, mineral oil, phosphoric acid, propylene glycol, sodium phosphate, water and white petrolatum. Tubes of 15 g and jars of 450 g.
1 %: Each g of cream contains: hydrocortisone USP 10 mg (1 %) in a water miscible emollient base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cetostearyl alcohol, chlorocresol, citric acid, mineral oil, polyethylene glycol 1 000 monocetyl ether, sodium citrate, sodium hydroxide, water and white petrolatum. Tubes of 15 g and jars of 450 g.
Ointment: 0.5 %: Each g of ointment contains: hydrocortisone USP 5 mg (0.5%) in a lanolin-free petrolatum base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: white petrolatum. Tubes of 15 g and jars of 450 g.
1 %: Each g of ointment contains: hydrocortisone USP 10 mg (1 %) in a lanolin-free petrolatum base. Nonmedicinal ingredients: white petrolatum. Tubes of 15 g and jars of 450 g.
Lotion: Each mL of lotion contains: hydrocortisone USP 5 mg (0.5%). Nonmedicinal ingredients: carbomer, isopropyl alcohol, water and sodium hydroxide. Squeeze bottles of 30 mL.
